The Accounting Tech creates a remarkable experience consistent with our brand personality, core values, service promises, mission, and vision with all internal and external relationships. Ensures all the credit union's financial responsibilities are satisfied in a timely manner. Perform daily and monthly tasks in accordance with the Credit Union responsibilities. Must possess a basic knowledge of accounting principles and strive to understand underlying theories to be better equipped to solve problems. Must be detail oriented and able to communicate effectively.

Qualifications

The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties will be required and assigned.

• Monitor, post to, balance and maintain specific general ledger and credit union accounts daily as well as ensuring differences are resolved.
• Preparation of monthly general ledger reconcilements.
• Monitor and maintain completed general ledger reconcilements.
• Monitor and process stale dated cashier’s checks.
• Maintenance of facilities including inspections, tests, servicing, and repairs.
• File, Stock, Track and maintain credit union records in compliance with regulation.

• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• 2 years’ previous accounting or booking experience preferred.

Knowledge of:

• Working knowledge of Excel and Word.
• Working knowledge of accounting principles.
• Preparation of statement reconcilements.
• Preparation of general ledger reconcilements.
• Credit union products, services, and policies.

Ability to:

• Operate a personal computer and associated windows-based software.
• Operate standard office equipment such as fax, copy and 10 key adding machines.
• Provide service to members in a timely manner.
• Perform math calculations.
• Organize time and duties effectively.
• Communicate effectively and professionally.
• Work independently and efficiently.
• Pay attention to details, be proficient and accurate.
• Be flexible and handle more than one task at a time.
• Handle inquiries to the satisfaction of management and members.
• Reconcile corporate financial statements and vendor statements.
• Create and modify Excel spreadsheets.

This position works extensively with our members, both internal and external, primarily through the telephone and email.

Duties performed are in an office environment. Occasional travel for meetings, classes and/or outside seminars may be required.
